About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect/Manager to lead our data architecture initiatives and manage our data engineering team using Microsoft Azure and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data management, and team leadership, with a focus on designing scalable and secure data systems on the Microsoft platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, etc.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture and data management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics).
• Experience with data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and big data technologies.
• Data Modeling (e.g. Enterprise Data Warehouses, Star Schemas, etc).
• Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy using Microsoft Azure.
• Design data models, database schemas, and data warehouses to support business needs.
• Ensure data architecture aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee data integration, data migration, and data quality initiatives.
• Implement and manage data governance policies and procedures.
• Monitor and optimize data systems for performance and scalability.
• Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
• Assign tasks, set goals, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Present data architecture plans and progress to executive teams.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Implement data privacy measures and access controls.
