About the position

The Data Center Infrastructure Engineer at Leidos is responsible for supporting the Cyber TRIDENT program by guiding the definition, implementation, and delivery of capabilities focused on Cyber Training systems. This role involves leveraging expertise in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment within a virtualized computing environment, contributing to a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support with the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of full stack data center infrastructure, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Power, Cabling, Racking, Virtualization, Containerization, and physical facility infrastructure.
  • Work in a team environment, providing leadership and mentoring to a multi-faceted technical team of engineers of varying skills and experience.
  • Work in a product team environment with all stakeholders, being flexible to change in customer requirements.
  • Analyze problems and implement solutions according to corporate and government guidelines, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Assure system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of all systems and components.
  • Establish processes and procedures for installing, upgrading, managing, and testing the systems, ensuring that application software, cybersecurity, and operational use cases are fully accounted for.
  • Provide daily operations and maintenance on Cisco devices, physical and virtual F5 devices and on VMware NSX.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation, orchestration, and data collection and reporting.
  • Provide support in configuring systems by lifting servers into racks, performing cabling, installing operating systems and applications.
  • Work with customers, vendors, and other engineering teams to ensure solutions meet operational requirements that may include system provisioning, configuration, backup, and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience in a relevant field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain up to a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands from leadership, customer, and other team members.
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills to convey and present system performance info, to mentor colleagues, and to interface effectively with vendors, customers, and team partners.
  • Ability to solve technical problems involving a variety of integrated software and hardware platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in VMware and virtualization products such as ESXi, vSphere, NSX, and VCD is a must.
  • Skilled at managing Cisco networking technologies such as Switching (Cisco Nexus, Catalyst), Routing technologies (ASR, ISR G2), IP (IPv4 & IPv6), and Multicast protocols.
  • Experience with F5 / BIG IP physical and virtual network devices.
  • Experience with scripting (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Well-versed with Linux system management, specifically with Red Hat OS.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA and Security+ are desirable.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Firewall (DFW) rules.
  • Knowledge of containers and microservices in Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
  • Knowledge of Dell Hardware and iDRACs.
  • Knowledge of Minio and content transfer.
  • Knowledge of OpenDash360 platform.
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian Confluence and Jira products.
