About the position
The IBM Research I/T organization is seeking an infrastructure engineer intern for the summer of 2025. This role involves hands-on interaction with various systems, focusing on building and securing both on-prem and cloud environments for researchers. The intern will work closely with local and global teams, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, analysis, and enhancing existing services throughout the solution lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Interact directly with various general systems.
- Build on-prem and cloud environments for users.
- Secure environments and instrument them for quality service.
- Troubleshoot and analyze system issues.
- Plan new solutions and support deployment and integration of services.
- Enhance existing services and provide operational support.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in system building, debugging, and testing.
- Systems Administration/System Engineering experience in Linux.
- Experience in Systems Security Administration.
Nice-to-haves
- Programming skills in C/C++, Java, Python, Javascript, Node.js, etc.
