About the position
The Data Center Team Lead is responsible for providing and maintaining effective material orders, customer service, and inventory management as well as various customer material movement requests. This role involves the assembly and installation of servers and various electronic components using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. The position requires overseeing the loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight, performing quality checks, executing daily inventory cycle counts, processing return shipments, and managing the placement of server racks on the datacenter floor. The Team Lead will also oversee the installation of electronic components and cabling into server racks, operate material handling equipment, and ensure safety and cleanliness in the work area.
Responsibilities
- Oversee loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers.
- Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound freight.
- Execute daily inventory cycle counts and replenishment orders for critical spare parts.
- Process return shipments of various electronic components.
- Oversee and perform the placement of server racks on the datacenter floor.
- Oversee and perform the population of electronic components and install cabling into server racks.
- Install rack hardware using various hand, power, and measuring tools.
- Operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Perform and oversee cleanup activities in the work area.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to forge positive working relationships with different working groups.
- Critical thinking abilities and exceptional analytical skills.
- Experience with computers.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and static discharge hazards.
