Data Center Technician

About the position

A large Data Center in Cheyenne, WY is hiring multiple Data Center Technicians to join the team for a great opportunity! This is a physical work position that involves duties such as unlatching and switching, repairing, replacing DIMM, reinstalling, and swapping optics. Technicians will be responsible for pulling cable, pulling innerduct, dressing cables, labeling, and fiber cleaning to meet industry and customer standards. Knowledge and experience in fiber and telecom installation, including Fiber, Cat5, and Cat6, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete racks as per daily duties and team plan given by Project Lead.
• Unlatch and switch, repair, replace DIMM, and reinstall, swap optics.
• Pull cable, pull innerduct, dress cables, label, and clean fiber to industry and customer standards.
• Perform fiber and telecom installation tasks.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior IT related experience.
• Previous Data Center/Cabling experience is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

• Cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs) is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to train candidates with no cabling experience.
