About the position

As a Data Engineer Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for clients, addressing big-data challenges, and advancing mission objectives. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data engineering and intelligence analysis, enabling you to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and contribute to both individual and joint projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and test infrastructures for data generation.
  • Optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.
  • Act as a 'super-user' for ongoing system development efforts.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities for improvement in testing or other processes.
  • Contribute to data calls and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least eight (8) years of related experience in data engineering, technical analysis, or a similar relevant technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming with Linux, Python, or other languages.
  • Experience analyzing both large and small datasets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Experience producing informational, contextual, and/or intelligence products for various audiences.
  • Familiarity with field HUMINT and cyber collection, with knowledge of national intelligence agencies.
  • Strong briefing and writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of computing processing platforms (e.g., computers, mobile, I.O.T.)
  • Knowledge of mobile technologies including cellular networks (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.)
