About the position

Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Data Engineering Manager in New York, NY. The job duties include directing, managing, and overseeing a team of data warehousing professional employees in the U.S., including Associate Managers, Systems Analysts, and Senior ETL Developers. The manager will assign work and work schedules, monitor the completion of teams' core duties, responsibilities, assignments, and projects, and exercise exclusive control and authority over approving work products of team members. Additionally, the role involves full discretionary authority over planning, staffing, execution of projects, and oversight, as well as direct coordination and consultation with internal senior management on project risks, concerns, and financials. The manager will also build analytical systems from the ground up, providing architectural directions, translating business issues into specific requirements to develop analytic solutions, and identifying appropriate data to support solutions. The position requires working across the Service Delivery Lifecycle on engineering major/minor enhancements and/or ongoing maintenance of existing applications, conducting feasibility studies, capacity planning, and process redesign/re-engineering of complex integration solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing Python, .NET, Groovy, or Java programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience working on Big Data technologies and Extract Transform Load (ETL).
  • 3 years of experience working on ETL development utilizing RESTful web services based on microservices architecture.
  • 3 years of experience working with application CI/CD build utilizing at least one of the following DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, AWS DevOps, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Sonar.
  • 3 years of experience working with databases for ETL operations.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing Change Control and Development Methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience implementing application architecture and designing, coding, and testing software applications.
  • 2 years of experience working with offshore teams and managing deliveries in a distributed environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time to meet client needs.
