About the position
The Data Fusion Systems Engineer, Journeyman (PMA-265) position at AM Pierce and Associates involves supporting the Weapon System Acquisition Program and the F-18 team. The role focuses on defining and managing requirements for data fusion systems, collaborating with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and subject matter experts to ensure effective system integration and verification processes.
Responsibilities
- Define top-level and lower-level requirements for data fusion systems in conjunction with SMEs from AWL and IPTs within PMA-265.
- Reference existing DRMs from platforms such as the Super Hornet and Growler.
- Interface regularly with SCS Engineering for guidance on requirement documentation, verification methods, and system configuration control.
- Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the development and integration lifecycle, ensuring no gaps and proper flow down/up the requirement chain.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a Data Fusion Evaluation Tool, currently being built in AFSIM by Toyon.
- Facilitate collaboration between AWL, Toyon, and other SMEs to ensure proper use of the tool for data fusion system comparisons.
- Review deliverables, identify metric deficiencies, and contribute to the enhancement of system assessment capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience in defining and managing requirements for data fusion systems.
- Proficiency in system integration and verification processes.
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools, particularly AFSIM.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various IPTs and external entities.
