About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Care Data Governance Analyst/Lead to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring effective data governance within the healthcare domain, focusing on data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data governance platforms and a deep understanding of healthcare industry terminology and definitions. The position requires a proactive approach to managing data governance initiatives and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational strategies. The successful candidate will lead and manage data governance initiatives, developing and maintaining business glossaries and data definitions to support effective data governance. This includes ensuring effective data catalog curation and governance workflows, as well as overseeing the integration of data from data warehouses (such as Snowflake) to Tableau. The role also involves defining and explaining data elements and metrics to support business intelligence and reporting needs, making it crucial for the candidate to possess strong communication and collaboration skills. In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should demonstrate a high level of empathy, kindness, and inclusive thinking, along with a strong work ethic and determination to overcome obstacles. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data governance initiatives, focusing on data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Develop and maintain business glossaries and data definitions to support effective data governance.
• Ensure effective data catalog curation and governance workflows.
• Collaborate with technical and stakeholder groups to ensure alignment with data governance strategies.
• Oversee the integration of data from data warehouses (Snowflake) to Tableau, including managing data elements, fields, and KPIs.
• Define and explain data elements and metrics to support business intelligence and reporting needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive technical experience with data cataloging and governance platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of data governance processes, workflows, and best practices.
• Expertise in healthcare and related industry clinical and business terminology and definitions.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple technical and stakeholder groups.
• Proficiency in Enterprise Data Catalog platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation.
• Skilled in data catalog curation, business glossary development, data lineage, and governance workflows.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite for managing and maintaining data glossary input offline from Informatica CDGC.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data warehousing solutions, specifically Snowflake on cloud.
