About the position

The Data Governance Director at Ahold Delhaize USA is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the data strategy, governance, and management of critical financial data. This position aims to establish a cohesive data governance framework that ensures the effective use of data across the organization. The director will lead a team in developing policies and standards for data quality and management, while also serving as a strategic advisor on best practices in data governance and management. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to implement data governance initiatives and ensure alignment with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the data governance and management operating model within ADUSA Finance.
• Develop and implement a cohesive vision and strategy for ADUSA Finance data.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of standard data management processes related to master data change, data issue resolution, and quality management.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with key business stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of an effective governance framework.
• Coordinate cross-functional and global alignment regarding data policies and standards.
• Develop data governance and management related metrics to drive ongoing evaluation and improvement.
• Provide thought leadership and engage in industry data initiatives representing ADUSA.
• Oversee and provide strategic leadership for large scale data related initiatives.
• Partner with the Accounting controls team to implement appropriate data related controls.
• Lead the overall data related education and training across ADUSA Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field.
• 15+ years of previous business consulting/industry or related experience.
• 8+ years in Data Governance or related experience.
• Experience working in a global, multi-vendor environment.
• A minimum of 10 years of dynamic experience in leadership roles within Finance, Accounting, or financial data analytics and reporting.
• Deep expertise in the implementation of data strategy, governance frameworks, and key data management processes.
• Strong knowledge and experience working in a sophisticated multi-ERP system environment that includes SAP financials.
