On MetLife's Global Technology and Operations (GTO) team, the Data Governance Program Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the future of data governance at MetLife. The MetLife Data Governance Office (MDGO) is dedicated to implementing an enterprise-wide model for data governance, ensuring consistency in data usage and fostering confidence in data-driven analytics and decision-making. This position requires a candidate with a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale data governance programs globally, with a strong foundation in Data Governance (DG) and Data Quality (DQ) practices. The successful candidate will balance technical expertise with program management skills, engaging with various stakeholders, including technical staff and senior business partners, to enhance data capabilities across the organization. The MDGO Data Governance Program Manager will be responsible for managing engagement with data governance programs, creating a rhythm for ongoing support, maturity, and metrics reporting. This role involves collaborating with the Data Governance team and business partners to research, evaluate, document, and maintain data governance standards and best practices. The Program Manager will also perform consultative assessments of policy and standards alignment, manage data inventories, and support data governance tooling projects. The position requires a proactive approach to learning new technologies and working with cutting-edge cloud solutions, as well as interacting with business and functional analysts to gather requirements and implement projects effectively. In this role, the Program Manager will provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that technology platforms, solution designs, and performance tuning meet the organization's standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, experience in enterprise-wide data governance implementations, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required, along with a commitment to fostering a data-driven culture within MetLife.
