About the position

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking an Analyst for Data Quality, for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote). The Analyst, Data Quality is responsible for monitoring, checking, maintaining, and enhancing the data quality of the AHA enterprise data warehouse, analyses, and products, using various analytic and software tools. Utilizing the data quality lifecycle, identify, document, and resolve data quality issues, to ensure the integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all data assets across the association.

Responsibilities

  • Document, enforce, maintain, and support the development of data quality goals and standards.
  • Standardize data naming, data definitions, documentation, and models.
  • Establish and report on key performance indicators to assess progress.
  • Develop data quality plans, to include queries, searches, evaluation of code and logs as appropriate, to test for and identify data issues.
  • Support the development of data validation with primary survey collection systems and processes.
  • Evaluate existing and novel internal and external data sources and serve as an integral member of the data lifecycle team.
  • Review all significant analytic work for reasonable outcomes, proper coding, and documentation prior to final delivery to customers/users.
  • Work closely with the CRM Solutions management team to encourage and support data quality standards.
  • Support the identification of potential data quality opportunities and recommend improvements.
  • Deploy standards, procedures, and quality control measures for conducting project analytics.
  • Conduct data exploration, preparation, analysis, and reporting using a range of assets including clinical data, secondary data sources, and AHA's proprietary data.
  • Develop and apply algorithms and/or models with the goal of answering specific data exploration and/or research questions.
  • Participate on committees and task forces and advise other AHA staff who work with data.
