Data Scientist

About the position

The Data Scientist will develop and deliver AI and machine learning solutions that improve operational effectiveness, generate investment insights and enhance client servicing. Responsibilities include building and deploying AI applications using the RAG framework, developing data pipelines to source structured and unstructured data, generating vector embeddings, creating search indexes, and building user interfaces using Streamlit. The role also involves leveraging advanced Machine Learning techniques to develop predictive models, using Natural Language Processing to parse large volumes of unstructured data, and maintaining complex data pipelines. The Data Scientist will partner with various areas of the Enterprise to identify opportunities for leveraging data science capabilities and deliver creative solutions, participate in cross-functional programs, and deliver effective dashboards for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver AI and machine learning solutions.
• Build and deploy AI applications using RAG framework.
• Develop data pipelines to source structured and unstructured data.
• Generate vector embeddings and create search indexes.
• Build UI using Streamlit.
• Leverage advanced Machine Learning techniques to develop predictive models.
• Use Natural Language Processing techniques to parse unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain complex data pipelines.
• Partner with all areas of the Enterprise to identify opportunities.
• Participate in cross-functional programs and projects.
• Deliver effective dashboards for leadership.
• Develop relationships with business areas, data operations, technology, and risk.
• Support a culture of analytics and new technologies.

Requirements

• Masters in Computer Science or Data Science.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in data science and analytics, preferably in the asset management industry.
• Expertise in data science including behavioral analytics, statistical analyses, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
• Minimum 3 years' experience developing, implementing, and maintaining machine learning models.
• 1+ year hands-on experience developing Generative AI applications using RAG.
• Experience optimizing LLM queries using prompt engineering techniques.
• Programming skills for big data and statistical models (e.g., complex SQL scripts, distributed computing).
• Experience programming in Python, R, Java, and/or C++.
• Proficient with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience with cloud computing tools such as Data Bricks.
• Familiarity with cloud data stores; both SQL and no-SQL.
• Experience analyzing large scale datasets across finance, marketing, distribution, and product data.
• Experience with model governance processes.
