About the position

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing statistical, machine learning, and optimization models, validating new 1st and 3rd party data sources, and building out both internal and customer-facing data-driven applications. They will also be responsible for maintaining and building out relevant product analytics, metrics, and experimentation and measurement frameworks. This role reports into the Director, Data Science. The Data Scientist will join the team responsible for building and enhancing large-scale and high-performance systems to organize and store data from multiple platforms and conducting advanced statistical analyses to help optimize the experience for our audience. This team also develops key data assets for the company, including our Hispanic HH Graph, proprietary customer segments, and our data-driven video ad network, and manages relationships with key partners to improve TVU data assets and enable new data-driven services.

  • Make data science accessible and applicable for all businesses on our platform
  • Explore new metrics that provide business value with accuracy and stability

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a data scientist
  • Demonstrated use and understanding of statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Bachelor's degree in a broadly quantitative field
  • Experience conducting analyses to drive business impact
  • Experience communicating effectively with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders of different disciplines
  • Experience in multi-tasking work environment and thrive in fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced (M.S./Ph.D.) degree in a broadly quantitative field
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Spark/Big Query/Snowflake)
  • Experience with SQL and Domo
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and rapidly changing, less structured environment
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and confidentiality
  • Strong relationship building ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full professional proficiency in English and either professional Spanish proficiency or the desire to become proficient in Spanish
  • Having knowledge of and actively consuming TelevisaUnivision content is a plus!
