About The Position

As a Data Transformation Specialist / Database Developer, you will be responsible for modernizing and transforming legacy data tools into efficient systems to support the U.S. Navy Self Defense Systems Division. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data management, accessibility, and collaboration, applying your technical skills to support critical Navy operations.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Minimum bachelor's degree in a field related to computer or information science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience building database solutions and performing similar work.
• Strong proficiency in relational databases and SQL for querying, design, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with data migration, transformation, and database design.
• Experience in developing solutions for cross-team sharing.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power BI) or similar tools (Tableau, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage data transformation projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, VBA, JavaScript, or Power Fx.
• Certifications or training certificates relating to Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, or related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess legacy tools, including Excel tracking spreadsheets and MS Access databases, to develop modern database solutions.
• Lead transformation efforts to transition data into optimal formats for relational databases.
• Develop, configure, and manage SharePoint Lists and other data storage solutions for team-wide sharing.
• Design and implement front-end applications using Microsoft PowerApps.
• Create dynamic dashboards with Microsoft Power BI to visualize data insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize database structures and ensure data accuracy and integrity during the transformation process.
• Build analytical tools to extract data from modernized systems for advanced reporting and decision-making.
