About the position

This position is assigned to support the Child Welfare Data Warehouse team in developing Federal reporting, ad-hoc, ETL, and Business Objects reports that are critical to the success of the application such as NYTD, AFCARS, and NCANDS. The Data Warehouse Architect will work with State and contract staff and the operational SACWIS/CCWIS system developers to ensure that the operational system database will support the data needs of the Child Welfare Data Warehouse, and the functionality needed to extract the needed data on a regular basis. Responsibilities

  • Work with State and contract staff to design and load the Child Welfare Data Warehouse database model to support the reporting and analytic needs of DHHS.
  • Ensure that the operational SACWIS/CCWIS project continues to evolve and make needed changes to the Child Welfare data warehouse.
  • Work closely with State and contract staff to ensure they are aware of the decisions and impacts involved in supporting and enhancing the DHHS Data Warehouse models.
  • Perform application development tasks in support of building business intelligence applications and integrating data warehouse resources into other DHHS applications.
  • Create data warehouse-based applications including reporting, dashboards, and other information analysis, visualizations, and delivery systems.
  • Extract, transform, and load systems to move data from various operational systems to a cleansed, consolidated data warehouse.
  • Design and improve database queries in collaboration with data warehouse Federal reporting team members and end user query developers.
  • Work with agency requestors to define and develop new queries and provide training and technical support to both DTMB developers and end user query developers.
  • Understand end user data needs and create and implement solutions.
  • Develop and present training classes for DTMB developers on using Teradata and BI development tools.
  • Provide one-on-one support for developers and end users to assist them in accomplishing their federal data reporting needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Teradata Cloud.
  • 3+ years of experience with Business Objects XI and/or Power BI.
  • 3+ years performing ETL processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Federal background highly preferred.
