About the position

The Database Analyst position involves reviewing, evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining company databases. The role requires identifying data sources, constructing data decomposition diagrams, providing data flow diagrams, and documenting processes. The analyst will write codes for database access, modifications, and constructions, including stored procedures. Employees must reside in the state of Utah but might have the opportunity to work a hybrid (in-office and remote) work schedule, with possible consideration for a fully remote work schedule, subject to approval and change.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members on study design, data management, project management, report analysis, report preparation, as well as interpretation and dissemination of results.
  • Identifies procedures for use of information from the tools and formulates mechanisms for leadership approval of any messaging to be shared outside the project.
  • Proactively identifies roadblocks interfering with project progress and deliverables and provides viable solutions to keep project on track.
  • Troubleshoots issues and communicates risks, diplomatically addressing concerns and promoting a transparent environment for problem resolution.
  • Clearly articulates to team leadership the status of projects and provides insight into any additional support needed for successful completion.
  • Uses data domain and methodological knowledge to contribute to the development of research protocols and assist with study design and preparation.
  • Monitors progress of study execution and facilitates completion, assisting with evaluation and interpretation of study results.
  • Uses excellent communication and analytical skills, exhibiting a high level of self-motivation, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Works independently as well as participates in multiple concurrent team projects, managing timelines and deliverables across projects.
  • Assists the study team with data management tasks, including testing and reviewing data validation checks, issuing and resolving data queries, and reviewing data listings to identify discrepancies.
  • Works with the team to provide descriptive and other analytic tasks.
  • Complies with team standards for code writing and presentation of data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in an allied health or methodological field preferred.
