About the position

Join our crew onboard the 120-foot, 260 GRT Thea Foss, our steel-hulled luxury yacht, and be part of a company that values your expertise and offers a collaborative and supportive work environment. Thea Foss is home-ported in Seattle on Lake Union and is used for the enjoyment of the customers and guests of the Saltchuk family of companies. The boat is operated and maintained year-round, with potential travel to Alaska or the San Juan Islands in the summer.

Responsibilities

• All work to be performed under the direct supervision of the captain
• Cleaning, maintenance, and repair of the ship, both interior and exterior
• Line handling and rigging
• Anchor handling
• Standing at wheel watch and lookout duties
• Functioning as coxswain of the ship's boats
• Assist with a variety of engineering duties under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer
• Participate in all training drills and instruction related to specific duties
• Work with all other crew members to establish and ensure best practices and procedures
• Maintain appropriate grooming and courtesy to passengers and other crew members
• Ability to lift forty pounds or more on a regular basis
• Adhere to the policy of no illicit drugs and alcohol while aboard

Requirements

• Recent employment as a Deckhand aboard antique or traditional yachts or small passenger vessels
• Up-to-date Basic Safety Training
• Basic firefighting, first-aid, CPR and AED training preferred
• A current driver's license and U.S. passport
