About the position

The Defense Congressional Analyst, Junior role at Booz Allen involves providing legislative and congressional support to the Navy client during the Defense Authorization and Appropriations process. The analyst will leverage existing systems to coordinate, track, report, and analyze data to support government decisions on requirements and progress. This position requires analytical support for the development and implementation of Navy and Marine Corps strategies and policies, as well as risk-based analysis of legislative processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide legislative and congressional support throughout the Defense Authorization and Appropriations process.
• Leverage Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) systems to coordinate and track progress.
• Provide analytical support for Navy and Marine Corps strategy and policy development.
• Analyze risk-based strategies for legislative processes and planning.
• Track metrics for strategy implementation and provide analysis to identify and close requirements.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a professional environment.
• Experience with direct client interactions and project delivery.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to track procurement goals through the legislative cycle.
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks with minimal direction.
• Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience reviewing and drafting Reclamas for Congressional Defense Committees.
• Familiarity with Congressional or legislative affairs and the DoD legislative process.
• Experience using RStudio's rvest and ggplot libraries.
• Experience using Python's requests or Beautiful Soup libraries.
• Ability to work with large datasets and produce informative visualizations.
