About the position

This position is a federal role requiring specific qualifications in radiological procedures. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs. The position requires adherence to radiological certification standards as outlined in Public Law 97-35 and 42 CFR Part 75. Candidates must provide evidence of their qualifications and experience in their resumes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiological procedures in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Provide dental assistance in general or specialized dentistry.
  • Set up instruments for dental procedures and provide chairside assistance.
  • Record treatments rendered and provide receptionist services.
  • Expose and process digital oral x-rays.

Requirements

  • Radiological Certification for GS-3 and GS-4 levels.
  • For GS-02: 3 months of general experience or a high school diploma.
  • For GS-03: 6 months of general experience or completion of a 1-year dental assistant program.
  • For GS-04: 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a 2-year dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
  • Experience in customer service, record-keeping, and clinic maintenance.
