About the position

This position is a federal role requiring specific qualifications in radiological procedures. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs. The position requires adherence to radiological certification standards as outlined in Public Law 97-35 and 42 CFR Part 75. Candidates must have completed an accredited educational program and be certified as radiographers in their field. The job is open for applications from December 4, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiological procedures in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Provide dental assistance in general or specialized dentistry.
  • Set up instruments for dental procedures and provide chairside assistance.
  • Record treatments rendered and provide receptionist services.
  • Expose and process digital oral x-rays.

Requirements

  • Radiological Certification Requirements for GS-3 and GS-4.
  • At least 3 months of general experience for GS-02 or a high school diploma.
  • At least 6 months of general experience for GS-03 or completion of a 1-year dental assistant program.
  • 6 months of specialized experience for GS-04, including providing dental assistance and exposure to x-rays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a 2-year dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
  • Experience in customer service, record-keeping, and clinic maintenance.
