About the position

This position is a federal role requiring specific qualifications in radiological procedures. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs. The position requires a radiological certification for GS-3 and GS-4 levels, as mandated by Public Law 97-35. Candidates must have completed an accredited educational program and be certified as radiographers. The job is open for applications from December 4, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiological procedures in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Provide dental assistance in general or specialized dentistry.
  • Set up instruments for dental procedures and provide chairside assistance.
  • Record treatments rendered and provide receptionist services.
  • Expose and process digital oral x-rays.

Requirements

  • Radiological Certification for GS-3 and GS-4 levels.
  • For GS-02: 3 months of general experience or a high school diploma.
  • For GS-03: 6 months of general experience or completion of a 1-year dental assistant program.
  • For GS-04: 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a 2-year dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
  • Experience in customer service, record-keeping, and clinic maintenance.
