About the position

Coweta Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our dental team in providing exceptional patient care. The role involves preparing for dental procedures, ensuring the comfort of patients, and assisting the dentist during treatments. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining a smooth workflow in the clinic and fostering long-term relationships with patients and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dental operatory for patient treatment and ensure all necessary instruments and materials are available.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by handing instruments and materials as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the dentist regarding patient needs, requests, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure patient comfort by preparing them for treatment and providing support during procedures.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to safety protocols.
  • Instruct patients on postoperative care and general oral health practices.
  • Maintain accurate patient dental records and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience as a Dental or Medical Assistant.
  • Certified Dental Assistant certification.
  • Experience with dental/medical technology.
  • Ability to connect with patients and provide a sense of urgency in care.
  • Professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor.
