This position is for a Dental Hygienist who will provide dental care through a government-sponsored program for Medicaid, specifically aimed at improving healthcare for underserved populations, with a focus on children aged 0 to 21 years. The role requires the incumbent to operate at the practitioner level, delivering care and treatment for teeth and gums, and performing preventive and therapeutic intraoral services. Responsibilities include examining teeth and other oral structures, cleaning teeth, applying sealants and topical fluoride, and performing radiological procedures without direct supervision from a Dentist. The Dental Hygienist will also maintain records of dental treatment and must be prepared to work in various public settings at different shifts based on the dental and health needs of the community. The essential responsibilities of this role include developing a dental health program in collaboration with Medical and Dental Officers, Program Managers, and key contacts. The incumbent will also be responsible for creating outreach programs to identify eligible members, developing strategies and documentation for outreach, and producing educational materials to promote oral health wellness among members, schools, and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). Additionally, the Dental Hygienist will maintain records of all outreach communications both internally and externally, and perform other duties as assigned or requested.
