About the position

The Dental Receptionist at East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is responsible for providing reception and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the Dental Clinic and mobile sites. This role involves interacting with patients, managing appointments, and handling administrative tasks while adhering to company protocols and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures for assigned location.
  • Interact with patients in a professional manner, checking in and updating demographic and dental insurance information.
  • Schedule new appointments and collect co-payments or deductible payments.
  • Assist clients in completing registration information and explain HIPAA Policy and Notice of Privacy Practice.
  • Data enter all demographic and billing information into the Dental Office's electronic medical record.
  • Perform insurance verification checks for all patients scheduled for the current and/or following day.
  • Confirm, schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments as necessary.
  • Monitor schedule and prioritize emergency and/or urgent needs through cancelled appointments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with medical records preferred.
  • Strong computer knowledge required.
  • Experience with electronic dental records preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
