For GS-12 level consideration, applicants must have completed a 2-year residency program in dentistry or demonstrate at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
- Perform dental procedures such as the removal of decay, filling cavities, straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth.
- Treat gum diseases and perform corrective surgery.
- Make measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth.
- Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions.
- Conduct radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and diagnose pathological conditions.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
- Passed the National Board of Dental Surgery (NBDE).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
- Ability to distinguish shades of color.
- Experience in evaluating, preventing, diagnosing, and treating oral diseases.
