About the position

The Department Chairperson for Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas Tech University is a full-time, tenured position responsible for providing strategic leadership in teaching, research, service, and outreach. The Chair will manage departmental personnel, oversee academic programs, enhance the department's reputation, and support faculty and student success while also engaging in high-quality teaching and research.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intellectual and strategic leadership for the department.
  • Manage departmental personnel and administer academic programs with Associate Department Chairs.
  • Develop and sustain connections with professional entities to promote teaching and research.
  • Enhance the department's reputation and research expenditures.
  • Represent the department to internal and external entities effectively.
  • Support and promote the success of faculty, staff, and students in the department.
  • Strengthen alumni relationships and fundraising efforts.
  • Conduct high-quality teaching and research as a faculty member.

Requirements

  • PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or closely related fields.
  • Full professor or record commensurate with the ability to be appointed as a full professor at TTU.
  • Demonstrated record of securing competitive research funding as PI.
  • High-quality publications and citations in research.
  • Experience supervising PhD students.
