About the position

The Senior Electrical Designer II is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects. This role involves creating detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications while collaborating closely with engineers and team members. The designer also participates in project meetings, provides technical support, and ensures compliance with industry codes and standards. Additionally, the position may involve mentoring junior designers and drafters, making strong technical skills and effective collaboration essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for various projects.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers and drafters.
• Create specific point-to-point wiring diagrams and back pan layouts for electrical switchgear, motor control, and power control rooms.
• Design custom/semi-custom products to meet customer electrical specifications.
• Update drawings per engineering and/or customer markups with direction from engineering personnel.
• Complete 'As Built' drawings to learn about drawing packages.
• Attend in-house and outside training sessions.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in an Engineering/Designing role.
• Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel.
• Ability to order material electronically.
• Basic drafting/CAD skills.
• Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and drawings.
