About the position

The Desktop Support Technician at Quantum Solutions serves as the first point of contact for business partners, providing essential support for software, hardware, network, and telecommunication systems. This role involves troubleshooting issues, escalating problems as necessary, and resolving them either independently or with the help of the broader ETP team. Technicians are also responsible for installing software updates and upgrades, ensuring a high level of service and empathy in their interactions with users.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on call rotation
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to work tickets, incidents, and outages
  • Develop a command of ITIL service management practices and customization made
  • Learn and develop expertise in in-scope applications and platforms for areas supported
  • Receive, ticket, and route end user support issues
  • Assist with commercial and custom system testing and debugging
  • Communicate status of issues to users

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Technical Degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field
  • Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy for user community
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other support management software
  • Experience with Telephony tool
