About the position

The Manager or Senior Manager of People Operations at D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI) will lead the Human Capital group's processes, focusing on benefits programs, payroll, HR systems, compensation administration, compliance, and immigration. This role is pivotal in managing the operational separation from the D. E. Shaw group and optimizing systems and workflows to support the company's growth in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead people operations efforts related to DESRI's operational separation from the D. E. Shaw group.
  • Implement and manage an Administrative Services Organization (ASO) and a full-service benefits plan.
  • Set up processes and data transfers for a new Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Optimize systems and workflows for efficiency.
  • Provide daily compensation and benefits support for programs and ensure compliance and timely reporting.
  • Run payroll and ensure state and federal labor law compliance.
  • Manage leave and handle immigration matters.
  • Benchmark plans and offer cost-effective options for employee benefits.
  • Manage vendor relationships with brokers, the ASO, and other third parties.
  • Provide guidance on operational issues and processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and audit human capital operations.
  • Generate proactive reports to provide insights to leadership on business and people decisions.
  • Help bring all people operations internal for both U.S. and India teams.
  • Develop longer-term compensation and benefits programs and strategies.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in human resources, finance, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in human capital operations.
  • Deep knowledge of benefits, HR compliance, reporting, and Excel.
  • Prior experience in implementing an HRIS and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer-service mindset.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical acumen and effective project execution abilities.
