About The Position

The DevOps Engineer at Cummins Inc. is responsible for providing technical expertise in application and infrastructure systems to meet business requirements. This role involves translating requirements into technical specifications, creating detailed solution designs, and coordinating the construction, installation, configuration, and testing of IT systems. The engineer will also troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring adherence to IT architecture policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in DevSecOps.
  • 6-8 years of experience specifically in DevSecOps roles.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, JFrog, and SonarQube.
  • Experience in creating, deleting, and fixing AWS DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of container tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like ANT, Maven, and Python.
  • Ability to configure CI servers using scripting languages.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage technical specifications for applications and infrastructure solutions.
  • Conduct technical analysis of potential solutions, evaluating commercial products versus custom-built solutions.
  • Deliver solution designs that adhere to standards and leverage reusable components.
  • Assist in creating high-level and detailed designs for infrastructure or applications, ensuring they meet architecture, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work meets specifications and quality parameters.
  • Participate in formal design and code reviews to ensure adherence to specifications and coding standards.
  • Leverage component design reusability to reduce costs and delivery time.
  • Ensure efficiency in build and deploy processes, utilizing automation where possible.
  • Assist in the test strategy and execution of the master test plan.
  • Contribute to the creation of standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for IT design and development.
