About The Position

The DevOps Engineer / Risk Modeling and Analytics Specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will manage the technological infrastructure of the New York Stress Testing Department. This role involves collaborating with leadership to implement strategic priorities, improving stress testing processes, and developing tools to enhance analytical capabilities. The position requires a strong analytical background and experience in software development, with a focus on automation and efficiency in financial risk analysis.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical/computational background in computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., R, Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl).
  • Advanced R programming language skills, including package development and demonstrated experience with front-end software development using R and R Shiny, strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Git version control software and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams in complex programming projects and work effectively with peers and individually on a shared code base.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining batched automated processes on Windows and Unix systems.
  • Knowledge of relational databases; Experience creating stored procedures and functions via SQL Server Management Studio preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional, geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with NYST leadership to determine and implement strategic priorities for the program's technological infrastructure.
  • Providing thought leadership in software development approaches and implementation.
  • Independently and proactively determining and developing methods to improve stress testing production process workflow and financial risk analysis, including automation.
  • Working with software programming languages and technologies to streamline stress testing systems/processes and develop foundational elements within the stress testing program's technological infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with stress testing applications, market data feeds and technological infrastructure, as needed.
  • Producing high-quality deliverables on a timely basis, including development and maintenance of detailed documentation that would enable a third party to understand and reproduce completed work.
