About The Position

The DevOps Solution Architect position is a contract role based in Plano, Texas, focusing on enhancing the security posture and operational efficiency of cloud-based production systems. The architect will collaborate with teams to solve complex problems in connected vehicle technology, ensuring high-quality software delivery and adherence to SecDevOps practices. This role requires a strong background in cloud services, particularly AWS, and expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, along with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in Information Technology, with 2 to 3 years in an Architecture environment.
  • Mastery in SecDevOps practices including IaC-Terraform, Cloud-AWS, CI/CD-Git/Argo, and microservices architecture deployment (primarily Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Experience with source control and continuous integration tools.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Services such as IAM, VPC, EKS, CloudFront, and APIGW.
  • Scripting experience with Bash/Shell and Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in additional AWS services like ECS, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, MKS, Batch, Lambda, Cognito, and RDS.
  • Experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Knowledge of Secrets Management tools like HCP Vault and AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools like DataDog, Splunk, and Grafana.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as an individual contributor and mentor program team members on security disciplines.
  • Solve complex problems around connected vehicle technology by troubleshooting issues and debugging codebases.
  • Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain AWS cloud-based production systems.
  • Adapt new technologies, tools, and processes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and work collaboratively.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.
  • Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
  • Manage the creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across various application domains and platforms.
  • Review code and technical approaches to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to technical teams on design and implementation best practices.
  • Help ensure high-quality software delivery by advising on testing strategies and performance tuning.
  • Prepare technical solution and architecture documents and presentations.
