DevOps Test Engineer

As a DevOps Test Engineer you will help us streamline our system testing, CI/CD and software delivery processes. Your responsibilities will range from creating and maintaining system test environments all the way to automating the system tests and improving our test framework.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain & improve automated tests (REST APIs, Kafka, UI, DB, etc.)
• Maintain & enhance existing automated test tools & frameworks
• Design, implement & support tools & functionality to support test environment/infrastructure creation
• Monitoring & alerting (SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs)
• Debugging & troubleshooting
• Participate in operations efforts and be the point person for test environment/infrastructure health
• Implement & maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage AWS resources.
• Develop, maintain, optimize and run CI/CD pipelines & test frameworks using GitLab for seamless Deployment AND ensuring robust test coverage and integration with test suites.
• Write comprehensive unit tests to maintain high-quality code standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define the best test automation strategies
• Conduct load testing to validate system capacity and optimize performance.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience as an SRE or a similar role
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, NewRelic, Sumologic)
• Experience programming in Java
• Proficiency in other programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python or Bash)
• Expertise with test automation implementation and test framework design using CI/CD pipelines like Gitlab
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience in working with cloud infrastructure (AWS)
• Experience with Kafka (and event-driven architecture tools)
• Experience working with relational databases, strong practical knowledge of SQL
• Understanding of scrum, agile, and kanban methodologies

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Atlassian applications
• Experience with AWS Blueprint or similar tools
• Certifications from AWS, CTF, CKA, and DCA are extra bonus
