Responsibilities

  • Enabling the delivery of a consistent level of service and data to our customer
  • Playing a key role on a collaborative team, responsible for the design and production of mission critical, enterprise-scale business solutions
  • Mentoring and coaching members of the team on technologies, implementation, and development best practices
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the logistics business and risk management domains
  • Maintaining an awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a whole

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, a similar field of study, or comparable work experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of JAVA experience
  • Curious, motivated to learn something new every day
  • Fun, patient, and an active listener
  • Customer service-oriented attitude and top-notch time management
  • Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Object-oriented programming and component-based development
  • Experience with SQL and relational database design/development
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience programming with Java in professional setting
  • Experience with Maven, Junit, Angular, Spring Boot, and IntelliJ IDE
  • Experience with Distributed Systems, SOAP API design, and Apache Kafka
  • Experience with Eclipse or Visual Studio Code IDE's, various plug-ins, Maven, Nexus
  • Experience with Git, branching, and merge requests/pull requests
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, security and monitoring
