About The Position

The Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Development Director by managing various fundraising campaigns, ensuring timely communication with donors, and maintaining accurate donor records. This position involves coordinating events, processing donations, and conducting research to identify potential funding opportunities, all while adhering to ethical fundraising practices.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, management, non-profit administration, business administration, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role within a non-profit organization.

  • Experience with donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Proficiency in managing donor databases and generating reports.
  • Strong research skills to identify and evaluate prospective donors.

Responsibilities

  • Process and acknowledge donations from individuals, corporations, and other entities.
  • Ensure proper recording and categorization of donations in the donor database and generate thank-you letters or receipts for donors.
  • Document all campaign pledge forms in the donor database and with the Finance Department.
  • Maintain, review, cleanup, and update the donor database, ensuring accurate information on donors.
  • Generate reports and donor lists for fundraising campaigns using the database.
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of campaign fundraising events.
  • Help with logistics, guest registration, event promotion, and follow-up activities.
  • Conduct research on prospective donors and foundations to identify funding opportunities.
  • Gather information on donor interests, giving capacity, and philanthropic priorities.
  • Support the development team in generating reports and analysis related to campaign fundraising efforts.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders, board members, and funding partners.
  • Maintain a master campaign calendar to maximize cultivation events.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring timely communication and acknowledgment of contributions.
  • Act as a liaison between the development director and campaign staff and volunteers.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and assist in preparing fundraising materials.
  • Support the major gifts officer in preparing for donor meetings and tracking interactions.
  • Train campaign volunteers at the direction of the Development Director.
  • Adhere to ethical fundraising practices and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
