About the position

The Development Manager at Kelley Nonprofit Consulting (Kelley NPC) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating compliance, evaluation, and reporting of programs funded by grants for various nonprofit clients. This role requires excellent writing skills, fundraising experience, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects. The Development Manager will work independently in a fully remote environment while supporting a portfolio of 2-5 clients, ensuring they meet funding deadlines and compliance requirements. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development in nonprofit fund development strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client support to several nonprofits, including managing timelines for grants and developing funding requests.
  • Maintain a calendar of funding deadlines for various types of grants and contracts.
  • Spearhead the writing, editing, and submission of all funding requests.
  • Manage funding reports and best practices for funder stewardship.
  • Assist clients in understanding grant parameters and compliance requirements.
  • Research and vet new funding opportunities for a diverse portfolio of nonprofits.
  • Develop materials to strengthen clients' fund development efforts, such as sponsorship packets and program one-pagers.
  • Support capacity building efforts for clients, including strategic planning and brand development.
  • Update client fund management logs and organize Kelley NPC's client and funder files.
  • Attend professional development opportunities and trainings as necessary.

Requirements

  • At least 5-10 years of fund development experience.
  • Successful grant writing experience.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit impact evaluation tools and concepts.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex projects.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent persuasive writing skills.
  • Excellent people skills with warmth and empathy.
  • Ability to use time efficiently and purposefully.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent computer and technological skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing and managing federal grants.
  • Resident of a rural Oregon community.
  • Bilingual.
