About the position

The Systems / Device Engineer role is a remote individual contributor position within the Device Engineering team, part of the Digital Workplace Technology organization. This role is responsible for designing and delivering desktop and endpoint management solutions for over 20,000 technology end users at the bank. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, along with expertise in desktop and endpoint management, particularly with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Group Policy Management, and Windows Operating Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement desktop management solutions, processes, and workflows.
  • Create and maintain system documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize desktop environments to ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to transition support and maintenance to operational teams.
  • Handle escalations, diagnose and resolve system and desktop issues, and provide technical support and training to IT Operations and Support personnel.
  • Contribute to the design, build, test, and deployment of desktop operating system standards.
  • Contribute to the design, build, test, and deployment of multi-tier on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
  • Contribute to the design, build, test, and deployment of configurations as part of a configuration management system.
  • Support peers and management to fulfill operational service levels and project deliverables.
  • Contribute to high-quality roadmaps, strategies, architectural designs, and project plans.
  • Organize work and continuous improvement ideas through effective Agile iterative work planning and execution.
  • Learn and follow the bank's change and release management processes.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to work prioritization and delivery.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for multiple DWT technology stack components.
  • Act as a tier 3 support resource and assist lower-level support groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems engineering and systems programming, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience in the same fields.
  • 5+ years working with desktop operating systems management and infrastructure.
  • 3+ years performing desktop engineering in the financial industry.
  • 1-3 years in an Agile delivery environment.
  • 1-3 years using Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with the FFIEC Architecture, Infrastructure, and Operations Book.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune MDM & MAM.
  • Knowledge of JAMF cloud solutions.
  • Experience with vSphere and Horizon Citrix.
  • Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop.
