About the position

The DHS Application Software Development (ASD) Division is seeking a Senior Application Developer to support the YSD Truancy Application and related projects. This role focuses on the design, development, delivery, and enhancement of various software applications using the QuickBase Application Platform. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality application performance, manage IT services aligned with business needs, and adhere to industry standards for development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy applications that support users on case and program management, particularly with the YSD Truancy QuickBase Application.
  • Provide mentorship and technical advice to a team of Application/Reports/Query developers.
  • Offer strategic advice to the lead, management, and customers of the OIS/ASD Division.
  • Implement programming standards that ensure secure and defect-free applications.
  • Interact daily with government clients to meet technical requirements for new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance / Quality Control teams to maintain application security and quality.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement accepted programming standards for the YSD QuickBase Application and infrastructure.
  • Define and document processes for application developers on the team.
  • Plan, research, and recommend new equipment, software tools, and related technologies.
  • Use monitoring and performance analysis tools to troubleshoot and isolate application performance issues.
  • Update system and process documentation, produce user guides, ER diagrams, and SOPs as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with QuickBase Development.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, XML, HTML, JavaScript, BPEL, PHP, WebLogic, .NET/ASP/Visual C#, SQL Server, SQL/Procedural Language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with application performance analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Visio for network design drawings.
