About the position

Siemens Mobility Customer Services is seeking a highly motivated Diesel Engine Overhaul Program Manager to innovate and supervise all engine-related programs, including rebuilds, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and second sourcing for Charger Locomotives. This role focuses on compliance with regulatory frameworks and aims to enhance the reliability and availability of rail systems through advanced maintenance solutions and data-driven strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated, multi-functional innovation team with interactions to key stakeholders, maintenance project managers, quality, engineering, and procurement/SCM.
  • Establish new partnerships with component suppliers and an independent aftermarket to improve reliability and profitability of service contracts.
  • Find solutions to extend service intervals of engine components, including implementing health monitoring systems and designing condition-assessment programs.
  • Develop and implement Engine Overhaul Strategies with OEMs and third-party suppliers to reduce life cycle costs while ensuring reliability and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor industry practices to identify applicable processes, products, and materials for engineering improvements in maintenance.
  • Act as the Diesel Engine Senior Expert and represent the team as a global Competence Center for diesel engine-related topics, focusing on overhaul best practices.
  • Shift maintenance practices from prescribed hourly intervals to duty cycle/fuel consumption-based intervals.
  • Collect, interpret, and derive health monitoring models and alerts based on remote diagnostic codes and signals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Diesel Engine Overhaul Programs.
  • Robust track record of leading programs in rail manufacturing or maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in innovation projects and intercultural collaboration with international teams.
  • Strong presentation skills and capability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Excellent English language skills in speaking, reading, and writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA with five or more years of direct customer service experience.
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Siemens-specific PM tools and methods.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or similar.
