About the position

The Diesel Technician at Draco Cummins/Isuzu Truck Center is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical repairs and maintenance on diesel engines and related systems. This full-time position requires a strong background in diesel mechanics, with a focus on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of various vehicle components. The role offers competitive compensation based on experience and includes opportunities for factory training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance including oil, transmission, differential, and cooling services.
  • Conduct brake work such as changing pads, rotors, wheel cylinders, and drums.
  • Remove and replace transmissions and clutches.
  • Repair and maintain cooling systems including radiators, water pumps, and fan clutches.
  • Work on steering and suspension systems including power steering, drag links, leaf springs, and tie rods.
  • Change, repair, and balance tires.
  • Conduct 90 Day/BIT and DOT inspections.
  • Perform lift gate repairs.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair (preferred).
  • 2 years of mechanical knowledge (required).
  • Diesel Mechanic Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience in brake repair and heavy lifting.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics.
  • Dealership experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing check engine lights and exhaust after treatment systems (DPF and SCR).
  • Prior Isuzu experience.
