About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, opening in early 2025, will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 20 years. This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, including The George Washington University Hospital and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. The facility will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion, a community space, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking a part-time Dietitian who will work under the direction of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, providing medical nutrition therapy, including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population. The Dietitian will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and participate in various programs and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population.
  • Follow all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including federal, state, and accrediting agencies.
  • Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies.
  • Train and mentor patient services staff and interns as applicable.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility-wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Licensed by the District of Columbia in Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board.
  • One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred.
