About the position

The Diffusion Process Engineering Technician at X-fab Texas Inc. plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, particularly in the Diffusion and Wet Process areas. This position involves working closely with various teams, including Manufacturing, Reliability & Maintenance (R&M), and Process Engineering, to address and resolve issues that may arise during production. The technician will be responsible for the disposition of hold lots, ensuring that any potential problems are quickly identified and mitigated to maintain production efficiency. The role requires running engineering tests, collecting and analyzing measurement data, and maintaining detailed job files for measurement tools. Additionally, the technician will qualify as an operator to assist manufacturing when necessary, ensuring a seamless workflow across departments. In this position, the technician will interface with Manufacturing, R&M, and Engineering staff to tackle process and production challenges. A key responsibility will be to learn the critical process requirements of the area, set up and execute engineering tests, and analyze the resulting data. The technician will also be tasked with maintaining measurement tool recipes and disseminating best practices to foremen, operators, and R&M technicians. The role may involve running Wide Bandgap (WBG) material and providing assistance to manufacturing as needed, making it essential for the technician to have a solid understanding of both wet process and diffusion areas.

Responsibilities

  • Interface and work with Manufacturing, R&M, and Engineering staff on process and production issues.
  • Disposition lots that are placed on hold.
  • Learn area critical process requirements.
  • Set up and run engineering tests and analyze data.
  • Maintain measurement tool recipes.
  • Fan-out best practices to foremen, operators, and R&M technicians.
  • Run WBG material and assist manufacturing as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of both wet process and diffusion areas.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Experience running wet process and/or diffusion equipment.
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of entire process flow and entire fab equipment set.
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills.
  • Two years of college level courses preferred or 2-3 years of fab experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some troubleshooting and dispositioning experience preferred, but not required.
