About the position

The Digital Communications Specialist at the College of Architecture and Design, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive digital content strategy across various platforms. This role involves building and maintaining websites, managing social media accounts, and overseeing email marketing efforts to enhance the college's digital presence and engagement. The specialist will also analyze digital performance metrics to inform content improvements and mentor team members on digital platform usage.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute digital content strategy to maximize the college's presence across multiple platforms.
  • Design, build, edit, and place content on the college websites using user-centered design principles.
  • Maintain websites and content to optimize SEO performance and user experience.
  • Write, build graphics, and prepare multimedia content for social media, websites, and e-newsletters.
  • Oversee email marketing efforts, including creating and editing customized content for targeted audiences.
  • Monitor engagement across digital platforms and provide analytics insights to improve content strategy.
  • Track performance of digital marketing campaigns and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand and optimized for search across multiple platforms.
  • Represent the College of Architecture and Design at conferences or conventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects and contribute to strategic planning of communication campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience related to job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO best practices.
  • Experience with digital content strategy and email marketing platforms like Constant Contact.
  • Proficiency in managing website content using CMS such as WordPress or SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field with 3 years of progressive experience.
  • Experience with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
  • Ability to create and optimize multimedia content for various digital platforms.
