About the position

The Digital Communications Specialist at Peers & Partners Inc. is responsible for managing website design, content, and digital assets to ensure a cohesive and engaging online presence. This role focuses on enhancing user experience through strategic digital communications, particularly for the Office of Community Services (OCS) websites. The specialist will collaborate with federal agencies and commercial clients to create impactful digital solutions that engage stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and oversee the creation of website content on a daily basis, ensuring alignment with OCS goals and audience engagement.
  • Plan, evaluate, edit, and document the look, layout, and navigation of OCS websites to optimize user experience and maximize web-based marketing potential.
  • Create and design digital assets, including images, banners, bullets, charts, image maps, and other graphics to enhance the visual appeal and functionality of the website.
  • Maintain consistency in branding, design elements, and tone across all web-based content to support cohesive digital communications.
  • Assess and improve the flow and interactivity of web pages to enhance user engagement and accessibility.
  • Apply best practices in web design to ensure an intuitive, user-friendly experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Document website updates, changes, and design guidelines to ensure consistency and quality control.
  • Regularly review and test website performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to improve site efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with six (6) years of experience in digital communications, web design, or a related field, OR Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience in digital communications, web design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in web design software and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and familiarity with HTML, CSS, and UX/UI principles.
  • Ability to create visually engaging digital assets that enhance website aesthetics and functionality.
  • Strong eye for design and detail, with a passion for creating polished, visually appealing web content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present design concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external clients.
