About the position

The Digital Content Creator at Northwest Florida State College is responsible for creating, developing, editing, and publishing content across various digital platforms. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the college's communication efforts and ensuring that all messaging aligns with the institution's brand and mission. The position requires collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer and involves a variety of tasks including social media management, video production, and public relations support.

Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, edit, and publish content for digital platforms including the website, blogs, videos, and social media.
  • Follow brand guidelines to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Assist with advertising, marketing, and public relations efforts as directed.
  • Lead coordination of publicity campaigns and maintain relationships with college constituents.
  • Create and distribute press releases and print publications.
  • Produce short-form videos and digital content for social media channels.
  • Assist with photography requests as needed.
  • Compile digital content for departmental reports and the College's annual report.
  • Coordinate promotional strategies and publications with the Chief Communications Officer.
  • Promote internal college events via social media.
  • Serve on various college committees as requested.
  • Participate in professional development activities as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in digital content creation.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Knowledge of mass media practices and advertising markets.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) Style guidelines and printing processes.
  • Effective communication skills with students and the public.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
  • Experience in business and office procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends.
