About the position

We are seeking a dynamic Digital Content & Social Media Coordinator to join our marketing team at Mississippi State University. This person would be responsible for our social media platforms, photos, and videos. The ideal candidate would be an adventurous photo/video digital marketer who will strive to elevate our brand experience on a daily basis and push the envelope of creativity with insights and ideas. We are looking for someone who is social media savvy, a confident writer and communicator, outgoing and innovative, and able to capture photos and videos that help tell a story. As a marketing team member, this position will work closely with the onsite Operations team and Corporate Marketing team to help bring both Aramark's and our client's vision and mission to life. The Digital Content & Social Media Coordinator is a champion, guardian, advocate, and ambassador of the brand. The coordinator will provide support on all local engagement activities, both partner and consumer-facing, including but not limited to written and verbal communication, events, and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and curate video and photography for social media posts, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, event marketing materials, and announcements.
  • Maintain all social media platforms, developing and executing innovative content/strategies.
  • Create rapid turnaround and ensure timely delivery of completed videos while meeting project deadlines.
  • Independently shoot high-quality photos and videos that produce captivating content to drive brand awareness while engaging with the audience and capitalizing on promotions and events.
  • Assist with writing and crafting compelling captions, headlines, and narratives that enhance digital content.
  • Utilize analytics to ensure content plans are data-driven, innovative, and capable of achieving measurable outcomes across various platforms, while tracking effectiveness through measurable goals.
  • Provide basic leadership and direction to student workers (marketing interns).
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in video marketing, sharing insights and recommendations with the broader marketing team.
  • Lead the development of creative customer presentations, centering all marketing efforts to achieve immediate and long-term business goals.
  • Coordinate marketing engagement activities.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to identify new marketing opportunities by category, recommending actions, planning projects, estimating costs, and managing projects to completion.
  • Manage website content, enhancements, and further development.
  • Execute on-site market research initiatives including intercept and digital surveys.
  • Support the operations team in executing innovation launches that drive profit growth.
  • Design location-specific traditional, digital, and social marketing campaigns; measure the effectiveness and sales data for each initiative.
  • Update and manage content of marketing materials and coordinate print production when required.

Requirements

  • Requires content creation experience with all major social media platforms.
  • Ability to share portfolio and/or samples upon request.
  • Proven results to create engaging marketing campaigns and short-form video content.
  • Experience with various programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premier Pro.
  • Handling pre- and post-production tasks including lighting, audio, and proficiency with major social media platforms.
  • Experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Emplify) is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Graphic design is preferred, as we need someone who can create clickbait thumbnail images for social media.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently or collaboratively with a team of creators and project managers.

  • Experience with graphic design tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends and best practices.
