About the position

The Summer 2025 Digital Media Internship at WKRG-TV / wkrg.com offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow within the digital content team. Interns will gain valuable skills in writing, search engine optimization, live streaming, and visual communication by selecting and designing graphics for WKRG.com articles. The internship is based in Mobile, Alabama, where interns can enjoy the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches and attractions during their time off. This experience is designed to significantly enhance candidates' qualifications for full-time positions upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Observe and work with WKRG's Digital Content Team.
• Gain writing and search engine optimization skills.
• Develop visual communication skills by designing graphics for articles.
• Participate in supervised internship activities and complete assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Must be a student seeking academic credit for the internship.
• Must be available for in-person attendance at the Mobile, Alabama studio.
• Must have a basic understanding of news writing and reporting for digital platforms.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous coursework or practical experience in journalism or communication arts.
• Familiarity with AP style and inverted pyramid writing format.
