The Dripping Springs Century News, an affiliate of San Marcos Publishing LP, is the marketplace leader for Hays county news. The Dripping Springs Century News is seeking a Digital & Print Media Sales Representative who will be responsible for developing relationships and consulting with clients within a defined geographic market. Our business-to-business sales representatives focus on the growth of current accounts and prospect for new opportunities, talk with local decision makers, analyze their needs, and effectively deliver value-based online and print advertising solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and aggressively grow sales through prospecting and relationship development. They will work with decision makers and develop strategic marketing plans in a defined territory, meet both revenue and retention goals, and ensure both customers and prospects have a detailed understanding of our digital and print products and services through a consultative selling approach. Additionally, they will ensure current customer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns, or needs. A complete understanding and knowledge of our various digital & print products and services is essential. The candidate will also collaborate with team members, managers, and cross-functional departments and participate in team or cross-team initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and aggressively grow sales through prospecting and relationship development.
  • Work with decision makers and develop strategic marketing plans in defined territory.
  • Meet both revenue and retention goals.
  • Ensure both customers and prospects have a detailed understanding of our digital and print products and services through a consultative selling approach.
  • Ensure current customer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns or needs.
  • Have a complete understanding and knowledge of our various digital & print products and services.
  • Collaborate with team members, managers and cross-functional departments and participate in team or cross-team initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Social Media or Mass Communication Marketing is preferred.
  • Digital media sales experience with knowledge of new technology and digital advertising delivery systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a highly dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: ability to adjust style and messaging based on audience.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and understanding of the importance of building internal and external networks to increase personal effectiveness.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work results on time and by deadline.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous self-development.
