The role of Digital Product Owner at Computershare offers a unique opportunity to join a global business during an ambitious Digital Transformation Programme. As a Digital Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in influencing the experiences of customers, clients, and employees through the delivery of digital applications using leading-edge technology. This position is not just about managing products; it’s about shaping the future of technology and innovation at Computershare. You will be responsible for ensuring that product features and functionality align with customer needs, delivering maximum value and results, and directly influencing the digital strategy of the company. In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Value Stream Delivery and Transformation Lead to translate business objectives and user needs into a strategic product roadmap. You will prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback, business impact, and strategic importance, ensuring that the product drives the digital evolution forward. The Digital Product Owner will also be involved in digitizing operations and call center transactions, building state-of-the-art mobile applications, and developing B2C and B2B client applications in the financial services sector. This position requires a natural mentor and leader who can build and manage excellent relationships with stakeholders and technology teams to deliver exceptional products. The role demands a team player who can work successfully with delivery squads and wider teams to achieve the goals of the digital transformation. You will advocate for the end-user experience, ensuring that the product meets or exceeds customer expectations while collaborating with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces. This position is ideal for someone with product ownership experience in complex digital transformations, particularly in financial services, banking, consulting, asset management, or customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the voice of the customer within squads, ensuring product features align with customer needs.
  • Work closely with the Digital Value Stream Delivery and Transformation Lead to break down the digital strategy vision into detailed product roadmaps.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the development team and business stakeholders to gather and document detailed product requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, testers, and marketers from initial concept through to launch and post-launch iterations.
  • Advocate for the end-user experience, ensuring that the product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that are thoroughly tested with QA teams before release.

Requirements

  • Experience in product ownership in complex digital transformation projects, particularly in financial services or related fields.
  • Knowledge and experience in modern Agile methodologies including Personas, Story Mapping, Product Roadmaps, and Backlog Management.
  • Significant domain knowledge and ability to apply technical experience to resolve problems and analyze complex data.
  • Proficiency in product management tools and software such as JIRA, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, Angular).
  • Understanding of modern cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), AI, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as a Product Owner or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in building and managing relationships with stakeholders and technology teams.
